According to the Hungarian history, Grof – Count Széchenyi was the first noble to introduce rowing as a sport to the Hungarians, just after returning from his England visit and having spotted a fancy eight on the Thames in 1822. Following many trips and visits to England, he finally decided to establish the first ever Hungarian rowing Club, the Csonalkda, now called Danubius National Rowing Club.
We, at the Danubius National Rowing Club believe that there would be plenty of you, rowers from all around the world, who want to celebrate the love of rowing and the man who spread this great sport in Hungary, Gróf Széchenyi with us, Hungarians, hence we call out all of you to come and race the 7th international Budapest Cup, part of the Gróf Széchenyi Memorial Regatta.
The Gróf has been known as a very generous man, hence we try to be as generous as him and invite one lucky team for a weekend in Budapest in a luxury property for 2 nights. (5 rooms for 2 nights including breakfast in a 5 star luxury property) all you need to is
