The registration for the 27th Széchenyi Memorial Regatta and the 7th International Budapest Cup is finished. In 2017 a tremendous interest is being witnessed regarding event among domestic and international rowing crews! A total number of 75 crews will join the event to race the 4.5-km distance. All together 63 eights and 12 women’s quadruple sculls will race in 3 divisions.
As in 2016, also this year we do our best conduct an outstanding Regatta. The regatta on the 1st April is organized by an organizing committee of five, with the support of 30 volunteers, five motorboat drivers, umpire staff of 15 persons including four international FISA licensed domestic and foreign umpires.
In 2017, due to the large number of entries and the ongoing reconstruction of the Margaret Island road system the organizing committee decided to move the depo territory to the XXIII. János Pápa park in the III. district of Budapest.
We are convinced that the new location will serve the interests of competitors and spectators, it will serve better the need of the regatta and crews experience.
Th new depo area is located at the connection of the Óbuda Danube and the great Danube stream. It provides large green space, beautiful view of the Danube. Also, the crews pass near the shore, providing a great opportunity to cheer the boats.
The race track, the start (Óbuda kiság, concrete accent) and destination location (Wesselényi boathouse line) do not change.
